Audit of the information systems of the CHR hospital in Mons     Print

The assignment consisted of a governance audit of the information systems of the CHR hospital, as well from an administrative point of view as from a medical one. This assessment was part of the preparation for a partnership with another hospital group.

The CHR, Clinique Saint Joseph and Hôpital de Warquignies, is a major care centre in the region of Mons-Hainaut based on two sites, the clinic St. Joseph in Mons and the Warquignies Hospital. The hospital complex has 1,300 employees, 200 physicians, 500 beds.

Methodology – IT audit according to CobiT

The audit of the department is carried out according to the CobiT (Control Objectives for Information and related Technology) framework from ISACA:
  1. Interview of key users to understand the expectations of stakeholders and to identify business requirements;
  2. The study of IT processes allows to evaluate how the delivered IT services meet the requirements and to compare these processes against best practices;
  3. The Resources (human, infrastructure, applications and information) used to satisfy the requirements are assessed.

The audit gives an opinion and a set of recommendations is developed to better meet business requirements. The management disposes of an action plan to improve the functioning of its IT department.
